A man, in his 30s, suffered multiple leg injuries in the crash, according to Golden Fire Rescue. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Crews with Golden, West Metro Fire Alpine Rescue and Flight 4 Life Colorado are working to safely bring the injured man down off the mountain and onto the roadway, so he can be taken to a local hospital.
It’s unclear how long the rescue will take and how long U.S. 6 will be closed. Nearby Lookout Mountain is a popular starting place for hang gliding flights.
