DORCHESTER (CBS) – Police are investigating after a Blessed Virgin Mary statue was set on fire outside of a Dorchester church.
Police were called to the Saint Peter’s Parish church on Bowdoin Street around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Officers found someone had set fire to plastic flowers that were in the hands of the statue.
As a result, the upper part of the statue was left with burn marks.
