Foxx Won’t Prosecute Hundreds Of Demonstrators For Non-Violent Offenses

CHICAGO (CBS) — Hundreds of people were arrested during these massive protests in Chicago for racial justice.

But many won’t face charges.

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx said her office won’t prosecute non-violent offenses including unlawful gathering, trespassing, disorderly conduct and curfew violations.

Foxx called out people who used the right to protest to exploit the situation and said offenders arrested for causing damage or hurting others will be held accountable.
