After more than four months away from basketball, the Nuggets will officially return to play on August 1 when they take on the Miami Heat in Orlando in the first of their eight seeding games, according to the league’s schedule release Friday night.
The Nuggets will be featured on national television five times, including twice on TNT, twice on ESPN and once on NBATV.
There will be no exclusive national telecasts during the seeding games, according to a league source. That means all eight seeding games should be carried by Altitude.
After taking on the Heat, the Nuggets will face the Thunder, the Spurs, the Trail Blazers, the Jazz, the Lakers, the Clippers and the Raptors before heading to the postseason.
The schedule that they’ll play was similar to the one that they would’ve faced in their next eight games had the season not been suspended.
When play was halted on March 11 during a loss to Dallas, the Nuggets were 43-22 and in third place in the Western Conference. They sat 1.5 games behind the Clippers for the No. 2 seed and 1.5 games up on the No. 4 seed Jazz.
The Nuggets’ schedule in Mountain Time, including TV broadcasts, is as follows:
August 1 vs. Heat, 11 a.m. (ESPN)
August 3 vs. Thunder, 2 p.m (NBA TV)
August 5 vs. Spurs, 2 p.m.
August 6 vs. Blazers, 6 p.m.
August 8 vs. Jazz, 1:30 p.m. (TNT)
August 10 vs. Lakers, 7 p.m. (TNT)
August 12 vs. Clippers, 7 p.m. (ESPN)
August 14 vs. Raptors TBD
