House Approves Police Reform Bill, But Issue Stalled Amid Partisan Standoff

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of Calif., joined by House Democrats spaced for social distancing, spoke at a press conference on the House East Front Steps of the Capitol ahead of ahead of the House vote on the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020.

The House passed legislation crafted in the wake of national protests set off by the death of George Floyd. The bill is not expected to move in the GOP-led Senate, after Democrats blocked GOP bill.
