Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow (15) runs for a touchdown in the second quarter. Denver Broncos vs Pittsburgh Steelers AFC Playoff game. Sunday Jan. 08, 2012 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.

The Broncos have had a strong history of quarterbacks (See: Manning, Peyton; Elway, John). Just not the ones they’ve drafted. (Yet.)

ESPN ranked all 32 NFL teams in terms of the quarterbacks they drafted and Denver came in at No. 25 on the list, using a combination of the positions the QB was drafted and Pro Football Reference’s approximate value rating. The best player Denver picked, according to the list, was Brian Griese. The worst? Tim Tebow, despite being the only Broncos draftee to actually win a playoff game in Denver.

ESPN’s Seth Walder writes: “It’s sort of crazy to see Tebow at the bottom of the Broncos’ list considering his role in an iconic playoff run, but the 2007 Heisman winner’s career fizzled after that big overtime win against Pittsburgh. He’ll likely be caught eventually by Paxton Lynch, who is still given a slight benefit of the doubt by the model thanks to time.

“On the other end, Griese narrowly edged out Jay Cutler as a later draft pick.”

About Manning and Elway? They helped lift the Colts to the No. 3 spot on the list. The Patriots, behind Tom Brady, came in at No. 1. On the other end, the Browns sit at No. 32.
