CHICAGO (CBS)– A SWAT team is responding to a home in Aurora where a shooting suspect has barricaded himself.
According to police, officers received a call for a person with a gun who was firing shots towards a man on the street just after 2 a.m. The house is located at in the 500 block of Bangs Street.
“Officers responded to the area and learned the suspect barricaded himself inside a home,” police said in a written release.

The Aurora Police Department’s Special Response Team was requested to respond to the scene and they are working to make contact with the suspect.
Police do not know if anyone else is in the house at this time.
Police said nearby homes have been evacuated as a precaution and they are asking anyone in the block to remain inside their homes.
